Summary
RED ROOM is an art lounge held for two days once every two months, when a “red room” appears in the 1929 stone entrance hall of YCC Yokohama Creativecity Center. As the name suggests, everything from the lighting to the interior is built around the theme of red, and drinks including alcohol are served from a bar counter. The lighting and the red room itself are artworks made by Kyota Takahashi and Reiko Kawaguchi, the artists known for their light works at Yokohama’s annual Smart Illumination festival; the result is a lounge event in which historic architecture, art, music and performance come together. For the final edition, RED ROOM “Bon Voyage!”, the whole of the first-floor hall was used in addition to the 1929 stone entrance, and the entire evening unfolded as a single work in which space, performance and music were fused.
